ARE DEMOCRATS ANTI AMERICAN ?

Ronald Reagan famously said "why do they always blame America first." Hillary Clinton just said, I'm sick and tired of my patriotism being questioned every time I criticize this administration." John Kerry just said "I want to win the war" 24 hours after he said ,"it is the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place." The above comments reflect a basic truth, i.e., Democrats are perceived to be anti American, at least to the extend that it is possible to be anti-American in a democracy when you have achieved your goals democratically.
Firstly, the Democrats have achieved everything the Socialist Party of the 1920s wanted and still they stand for nothing except a further socialist expansion of the Federal Gov't. They do this in part out of an understanding that if you promise voters money they will vote for you get that money, and in part because they genuinely believe that by giving people money they are being helpful. Republicans believe in the traditional Jeffersonian American concept: you help people by giving them freedom, i.e., the fishing rod rather than the fish.
The Jeffersonian concept of America prevailed totally until Karl Marx and the Great Depression of the 1930s, at which time a combination of Marxist ignorance and circumstance ( a seemingly inexplicable depression) gave the Democrats an opportunity to begin their challenge of the Jeffersonian Republican concept of America. In short, the Democratic Party in its current incarnation is very new, and very opposed to traditional American values. Hence, it can be considered Anti-American.
Being anti American the Democrats naturally don't support American foreign policy. Kerry did not want to fight Communism, he was anti-war about Vietnam and now he is anti war about Iraq despite his feeble protestations to the contrary. Hopefully this helps to explain why the Democrats are always forced to dodge, deflect, or absorb the charge that they are anti American. comments: bje1000@aol.com
