A European Looks at Abu Ghraib

Typical European liberal: So we have known about rape and slavery in your prisons for a long time but the
general feeling is as long as you rape and abuse each
other then it is not our business.

Ted: Oh what a nice compassionate response to our gov't prisons. Is it repayment for the compassion we showed you by saving you from Hitler and Stalin and protecting you during the cold war? Or, does it reflect the jealousy and impotence you feel because your foreign interventions mostly result in the same kind of mass murder that was common on your continent for centuries?

Typical European Liberal: But Abu Ghraib is not just your business and besides, in your prisons it is the inmates who abuse and not the guards. In Irak, the abusers are part of a force that came to liberate, bring justice and democracy as friends. Instead what the world sees are grinning imbeciles who look exactly like the grinning idiots that would kick, rape, and humiliate Jews in the 1930s.
Ted: Yeow, I know you hate being the old world while we in the new world have surpassed you in so many areas but that should not cause you to hallucinate that a few Americans who were engaged in the legitimate, if sad, business of pre-torture, are Nazis.
When the handover comes in 3 weeks will you hallucinate that it is really the execution of 6 million Jews and the killing of 52 million other people? While waiting for the handover you can be thankful that we freed you to from a Sadam like figure and set up your govt's so you wouldn't go on and on slaughtering each other for more centuries, and so you could be free to be jealous and ignorant of us much the way the Iraqis are today.
