When you hear a liberal talk about leaving Iraq before the job is done you have to ask him what he will do if the resulting destabilization leads to the destabilization of Saudi Arabia and concomitant loss of Saudi oil from the world market? At that point there would be only one solution: attack Saudi Arabia to secure the oil fields.
Of course all will agree, in retrospect, that it would have been better to let Sadam maintain stability in the region, or at least to take him out intelligently. At this point our only hope is that Bush can pull a rabbit out of the hat;if he can't we may well have to attack Saudi Arabia.
